Wellington, FL (February 3, 2020) – Turf Tour Week 5 is set to combine two of the world’s most wonderful things: world class show jumping and California wine. Hosted at the idyllic To-Kalon Farms, just an 8 minute drive from the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, their stunning, verdant polo field will be the backdrop for all levels of show jumping from the .80M to the $5,000 1.30M Rising Star Classic and $15,000 1.40M Turf Tour Grand Prix. Beginning at noon on both Wednesday and Friday (February 5 & 7), To-Kalon will host a Napa Valley inspired wine tasting featuring wines from the owner’s private wine estate in California, The Vineyard House. Winners of the Rising Star Classic and Turf Tour Grand Prix will also receive a magnum bottle of The Vineyard House’s rare and exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon!
The Turf Tour’s vision of providing a dynamic horse show experience is predicated by natural footing and weekly venues that reflect all the beauty, sport, and atmosphere of Wellington’s equestrian scene. As To-Kalon’s first time hosting the Wellington Turf Tour, Week 5 once again promises an equestrian ‘paradise found’ for all of the senses and most importantly, for the equines themselves.
The Vineyard House is a Napa Valley based winery founded by To-Kalon’s owner and second generation vintner Jeremy Nickel. His Wellington equestrian estate reflects the attention to detail and sensory experience required for excellence in one of the world’s foremost wine-making destinations. With their neighbors including some of Napa’s most iconic wineries, The Vineyard House is an intimate wine estate focused on producing an exquisite and rare cabernet sauvignon, branded as the estate’s namesake. Since assuming full operation of the California farm, Nickel has expanded the property to 44 acres, 25 of which are under vine and grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and, as a tribute to his late father’s original love affair with Montrachet, there are 3.5 acres of Chardonnay still under vine.
From under vine to under saddle, To-Kalon’s Turf Tour is sure to be another fabulous addition to The Ridge at Wellington’s show jumping repertoire. Full schedules and prizelists are available now and the first 200 entries are the cutoff!

USEF Equitation Tuesday runs each Tuesday afternoon at The Ridge’s home farm (14415 Palm Beach Point Blvd) featuring pony equitation, adult equitation, junior equitation, and Medal Maclay. New this year for the Equitation Tuesdays, unrecognized hunter divisions and Marshall & Sterling Classics!
The Turf Tour and its hunter/jumper/equitation events are a unique addition to Wellington’s winter circuit, offering riders top-tier competition, generous prize money, and an unparalleled atmosphere. Young horses and advancing riders are able to test their mettle in classes ranging from junior and amateur jumpers to the Grand Prix, and at a variety of venues reminiscent of the large European tours. Organized by US Olympic show jumper Nona Garson and George D’Ambrosio, the vision that inspired the tour’s conception was to stage competitions on turf and natural surfaces away from the intensity of other show grounds.
